Magicians have been doing "Cards Across" effects for years. It is
a direct, simple, and effective miracle given the proper
presentation. In many cases the method depends upon a bold
steal, some violent misdirection, and the magician's fingerprints
all over the cards. Here is a presentation and no-sleights method
that is performed from start to finish in the spectator's hands. The
effect was strong enough to make the Ed Sullivan show, and can
be equally strong in your hands too!
The Effect: Two spectators are chosen. The magician has
placed a deck of cards on the table. Spectator at magician's left
is asked to cut off half the deck and count ten cards face down on
to the table. The spectator to the right of the magician is given the
same instructions. Spectator at left is asked to bury their ten
cards face up in the center of their half of the deck. Again the right
spectator is given the same instructions. Both spectators spread
their cards, Spectator at left has only seven cards while the
spectator at right now has thirteen cards! Somewhere there has
been a TRIPLE CROSS!
