The basic idea for this ingenious trick was devised by Arthur Carter.
This is Daryl's version of two similar tricks that he saw described by
Karl Fulves and Martin Gardner in two different writings. This version
is a little bit easier to perform.
The magician correctly predicts in advance which one of six
numbered cards, laid out in a horizontal row, will be selected by a
spectator's throw of an invisible die. The topmost number named on
the imaginary die is the number used, and the number card at that
location proves to be the card predicted by the performer!
