The Magician's Credit Card (Zanadu)......$8.00
Prior to the performance of this effect the magician introduces his
attractive multi-colored credit card which is shown freely on both
sides. As the spectators read the text on the credit card , the
magician explains that the card will permit a magician, who is in
good standing with the Magician's Association, to use the card ONE
TIME if he feels he is in need. Then the message on the back of the
credit card is read aloud. It says, "Your Card Here". The credit card
is placed face down on the table, in full view of the spectators, as the
effect begins.
A spectator selects a playing card from the deck and shows it to
everyone, as the magician instructs the audience to be sure that they
all remember the selected card. The chosen card is freely replaced
back into the pack and is even shuffled by several spectators to
make certain that the card is lost and its location is known to no one.
The magician takes the deck and says that he will cut to the selected
card, but fails. This is attempted two more times, but with failed
attempts as well. The performer appears slightly upset and asks a
spectator to insert his Magician's Credit Card anywhere into the
pack which has been fanned out. The performer says that the
chosen card will appear directly underneath the credit card.
The spectator slips the credit card into the face-down deck at any
location of their choosing. There is no force involved; the spectator
truly has a free choice of where to place the credit card. The
magician repeats to the spectators that the selected card will be
found just under the credit card. Now the spectator removes the
playing card that ended up directly below the credit card and turns it
face-up, but it is not the chosen card.
The magician states that he said the selected card would appear
directly below the credit card. The spectator is asked to remove the
credit card from the deck and turn it over. Sealed inside the plastic
credit card holder is the selected card!
