Smiley The Mis-Made Clown (P&A Silks)......$35.00
This effect is actually new and has never been used but unfortunately the
colored clown silk is missing from the outfit. This is the way I received it
from a customer that I purchased it from. Perhaps you already own this
effect and may need some replacements of the other silks in the routine
that may have become soiled or damaged in some way. Here's your
chance to replace those missing or damaged silks in your set without
having to buy the entire outfit again. The silks included are pictured below.
In case you don't know the effect you'll see the entire routine described
below.
The magician tells the audience about the tremendous amount of fun he
had when he visited the circus last week and also relates how he felt that
the clowns were the funniest he'd ever seen. In order to share some of his
joy, he tells the audience that he's going to create a smiling, happy clown
which reflects the atmosphere of the circus. The sorcerer calls three
children up to the stage and shows them an empty bag and explains that
bag represents the circus tent is where the clowns get dressed and put on
their make-up.
Pointing in the air the sorcerer explains he sees the two necessary
ingredients to make a clown. He catches both by using the empty bag as
a butterfly net. The reason why no one else can see them is, in fact,
because they are invisible. However, if one of the children knows any
magic words and waves his hand over the bag, the two invisible objects
will materialize in the bag. After the child waves their hand over the bag
the magician reaches into the bag and pulls out a black and a white silk.
Looking somewhat confused the magician explains that if one of the
children can put the silks back in the bag and wave his had over the bag
and chant "Smiley Appear" several times, that the colorful, happy
"Smiley" the clown will indeed materialize.
The child complies with the magician's instructions and sure enough, the
magician pulls a silk out of the bag. The magician looks at the silk and
quickly crumples it up in his hand. He attempts to explain to the audience
that a terrible mistake has taken place and what he holds in his hand is
indeed not the happy clown that he has seen at the circus, but rather a
very sad, unhappy clown which he now displays to the audience.
The magician has no explanation for the sad clown face. The magician
now strains his head as if he is trying to hear something. He asks the
children on stage if they can hear anything. He now holds the clown silk up
to his ear, so as to hear what the clown is saying to him. The sorcerer now
tells the audience that Smiley is very sad because the Ringmaster of the
circus told Smiley that he cannot be in the circus because Smiley
has lost his make-up kit and all clowns need make-up to be in the circus.
The magician tells Smiley that he thinks he can help him acquire some
color for make-up. He hands the sad clown face to one of the children to
hold. The magician reaches into the bag and produces a white silk. He
then asks the children in the audience to throw some color off of their
clothes up to the stage. The magician hands the solid white silk to the
third child on the stage with him. Using the magic bag as a butterfly net,
once again the magician catches the colors which are thrown up to him.
He now takes the white silk and puts it into the bag and shakes the bag
so the colors will stick to the silk. He asks one of the children to say some
magic words and to wave their hand over the bag. The magician reaches
into the bag and pulls out a five-color diagonally striped silk handkerchief.
He places both of these into the bag and shakes the bag once again. He
reaches in and pulls out a six-color clown with a big smile on his face,
pushes the bag inside out to show the bag empty.
