my friend Coe Norton perform the "Rising Pencil" many years ago.
Coe's performance was so inspiring this has become my favorite
close-up trick. I have simply brought this effect up to date and
modernized it in the form of a common ball-point pen. Also I would
like to thank Larry White for his great ideas and inspiration."
Effect: Magician places a ball-point pen on the palm of the hand and,
with a magical gesture from the other hand, the pen rises slowly and
stands on end! No threads or wire are used. No magnets.
This is an up-to-the-minute modernized version of the ancient "Rising
Pencil" trick. The gimmick is built into the pen cap which allows a
"clean-up" that was impossible with the pencil version.
