The magician shows the Three of Clubs and two other different
cards. Explaining the "Three Card Monte' trick, the spectator is
requested to follow the Three of Clubs, but try as they might, they are
always wrong. Then the cards start reversing, vanishing and
reappearing. Eventually the three face-up cards are seen to be all
the same indifferent card.
Pretending to hear a spectator say that he suspects that the wily
performer is using double-face cards, the performer turns the cards
over, one by one. The first card has a regular back, the second card
bears a large colorful Butterfly or Moth, while the third indifferent
card is seen to have the pips of the Three of Clubs completely
cut-out from the center of the card!
