This is an up-to-date, improved, and self-contained version of a very
popular effect. A black bag is shown inside and out. A spectator
selects a playing card from the deck, looks at and remembers the
card, replaces it back into the pack, and then shuffles the deck.
Now the spectator is asked to drop the deck into the black cloth
bag. The magician shows a piece of rope, lowers it into the bag,
moves it around as if tying a knot, and then withdraws the rope. The
selected card is seen tied with a knot to the end of the rope!
