Four-Tunate Choice & Amorphous Ace (Bro. John Hamman)......$9.00

Dennis Schoen says the following about these two effects in February
1992.

One might ask what the AMORPHOUS ACE and FOUR-TUNATE
CHOICE have in common. Well both are rather short in description and
require not-too-elaborate gaffs, so they package together nicely. They
are both also part of Bro. Hamman's Fake Deck Routine.

The following Amorphous Ace Routine is Bro. Hamman's latest version
of the effect he still dubs the "Amorphous Ace". Latest here meaning
since the early 70's. The original marketed effect by DEVOE, circa
1960, was in booklet form without gaffs, but requiring five cards. The
handling in that rendition did not have the extra kicker of all the cards
changing as does its most recent form, but does have some great
subtleties. Another variation appeared in MUM in May of 1963.

This current version was marketed again by DeVoe in the mid 70's as
''Amorphous Ace Outdone" and follows the classic Hamman scenario of
lulling the unwary spectator into yet another surprise finish. Bro. Hamman
is without a doubt the master of this ploy. Both the AMORPHOUS ACE
and FOUR-TUNATE CHOICE are examples of bombshell finales,
couched as simpler effects.  FOUR-TUNATE CHOICE is one of my
personal favorites, perhaps for the utter simplicity of the method. The
effect is quite direct, understandable to the viewer, and has that
Hamman trademark, the left hook finish.

FOUR-TUNATE CHOICE

THE EFFECT: Performer displays the Four of Hearts, Diamonds,
Clubs and Spades on both sides, all the cards having blue backs.
A spectator is asked to choose two suits. When the cards are turned
over the selected suits have RED backs and the remaining two cards
are found to be COURT CARDS. The spectator having made some
FOUR-TUNATE CHOICES.

THE AMORPHOUS ACE

THE EFFECT: The AMORPHOUS ACE, one off four hearts, reverses
itself, rises to the top of the packet, then changes to the Ace of Clubs.
The performer concludes by showing the packet to be the Aces!

I have placed this effect in the used card magic section only because the
instructional booklet shows wear to the covers and there are some
apparent water or other stains as well.  Nothing too bad though and
nothing that effects the reading of the instructions.  The four supplied
Bicycle poker-size cards appear to have never been used as they are in
like-new condition.
