This is a simple but effective close-up item of the mental variety.
In effect the performer shows two pencil pieces which are identical in
size and shape, one of which is colored red, and the other blue. A
spectator is asked to hand one pencil to the performer behind his
back, and hide the other one. The performer Immediately reveals the
color of the pencil handed over to him. This is repeated again and
again, and becomes more baffling with each repetition.
A spectator may be invited to wrap the pencil in a piece of paper, or
in a handkerchief, to prevent the performer from getting a peek at the
color in any manner. Yet the performer infallibly reveals the correct
colors. The performer may even be genuinely blind folded. You'll
love doing this one! It will drive them crazy to find the secret. They'll
guess as to how it's accomplished but will never be right.
