There is a card changing prop over a hundred years old, described
in Hoffman's Modern Magic (page 139). The model we supply is
made from spun metal, in a slightly different design.
This prop will enable you to change a playing card, visiting card,
pay envelope, or any similar item. It is designed to work with all
types of flat items up to the size of a poker size playing card. The
apparatus breaks down for convenience in storage and
transportation.
You can have a card change (a wrong discovery of a "freely"
selected card magically changing to the correct one), or a blank
playing card changing to a replica of a selected card, or changing
a torn or mutilated card into a fully restored one and so on.
The pedestal could also be used for a torn and restored currency
note or bill effect. Mutilated currency note placed in a pay
envelope, magically restores! It can also be used to force a card,
wherever there is a consider lapse of time between the selection of
the card, and its final revelation.
Another type of application would be for "Spirit Messages". Blank
card, or performer's visiting card, or a picture card with a picture of
a crystal ball is placed on pedestal and a message is caused to
appear!
This is a wonderful utility prop with wider applications than just
changing a playing card. With a little thought it will find a favourite
spot in your act.
