The modern Two Card Monte, conceived and born in New
Orleans, Louisiana!
Two Cards are shown face up at the same time! For illustrative
purposes, let's use the Ace of Hearts and the Four of Spades.
The cards that you receive with this set may be different. The
cards are turned over in such a way that the spectators have
apparently seen the backs of the cards also. The Four is placed
face down in the spectator's hand and the Ace is openly placed
behind the performer's back.
The spectator is asked to name the card that they are holding and
what the magician has behind his back. Naturally, they reply that
the Ace is behind the performer's back and the Four is in their
hand. With that being said, the magician brings his hand forward
and he is holding the FOUR, and without the magician ever
coming near the spectator, the card in the spectator's hand is now
the ACE!!!
The spectator will examine their card and try to find out what
happened, all to no avail. The trick may be repeated.
