The following effect has been routined by J. G. Thompson Jr. and
makes for a very unusual presentation that involves a little card
handling.
Before the main effect takes place the magician has a playing card
selected by a spectator. This card along with the deck are placed
aside as the magician relates to a story about being in a poker
game where he received a very peculiar hand. So peculiar in fact,
that he decided to keep the cards. The performer wants to show the
spectators the poker hand he is referring to, so he removes a small
vinyl case from his pocket and removes five cards from it, and
shows them, one at a time, to the spectators. The five cards are
shown to have no faces, but just backs on both sides, a most
peculiar poker hand indeed! These cards are placed on the table
as the magician gets back to the card that was selected by the
spectator before showing the odd poker hand.
The magician uses one of the cards from the odd poker hand to turn
over the card selected by the spectator. The card is the Five of
Spades. Strangely, the card that was used to turn over the selected
card is now shown to have a face, and that face matches the
selected card! Now the remaining four double-back cards are
turned over by the spectator, and they too have changed into Five of
Spades!
Finally, the five Five of Spades cards are turned over to show that
each card has a different colorful back, each different from one
another, or the card selected by the spectator!
This routine will knock their socks off! Comes with all the special
